Paradise Stoneworks, Our Story

After graduating from Sarasota High in 1995, I built my reputation as the owner of Custom Curbing, installing decorative landscape curbing from Tampa to Port Charlotte. It was based on that reputation, I formed Custom Pavers in 2005. We grew rapidly, and in 2006 I opened a showroom on Venice Avenue, and sold my Curbing business to focus on the Paver business.

In 2008 the housing market and overall economy tanked. It was financially devastating to my Custom Paver business. I lost real estate and equipment. As the market started to rebound, my marriage started to go south. I did all I could to keep my marriage, so when my wife wanted to move north, closer to her family, I looked to sell my Custom Paver business here in Florida. I found a buyer, trained him for 3 months, and made the move to Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Needless to say, things didn’t go as planned, and my first marriage ended in 2012.

Florida always on my mind….

Most of my family is in Florida, so I spend large chunks of time here. So when I heard that multiple hardscaping companies in this area were ripping off homeowners, I approached Jim Hendrixson about partnering and getting back into the business, to give the people of Southwest Florida a company they can trust. 

Jim has extensive experience working for homebuilders throughout Southwest Florida and has a great reputation for being a trustworthy and honest individual, which is highly important to me. I am grateful to have Jim as a partner, as he shares my vision of growing Paradise Stoneworks with quality work and great service.

Paradise Stoneworks is built on my reputation, a reputation I have worked hard to establish over the last 20 years, both here in Florida and with the clients I had in Pennsylvania. 

Today I am blessed to have the support of my lovely wife, Danielle, and my 3 wonderful teenagers, along with everyone that I have done work for, have worked with, and have known over the years.
